Notes:
This work is part of Picasso’s experimental 1962 series combining phototype and stencil techniques. Following a method developed since 1943, Picasso cut out heads and silhouettes and, with photographer André Villers, mounted them onto different photographs, creating thirty variations in total. This collotype was published in the portfolio Diurnes by Berggruen in a limited edition of 1000 copies, exemplifying Picasso’s late-career exploration of mixed media and photographic integration.
