Notes:
This work belongs to Picasso’s 1962 series using phototype and stencil techniques.
Following a method developed since 1943, Picasso cut out heads and silhouettes and, with photographer André Villers, mounted them onto different photographs, producing thirty variations in total. The collotype was published in the portfolio Diurnes by Berggruen in a limited edition of 1000 copies, exemplifying Picasso’s late-career experimentation with mixed media and photographic integration.
